I wonder if Gimli has managed to make it back out of Fangorn without much trouble. I worry for my friend. There is no doubt that the forest creatures will not hurt him, are incapable of hurting him. However, it might slip his frightened mind that the trees do not take very well to axes. I hope he does not approach one carrying his—oh, I knew I should have taken it from him before entering Fangorn but the stubborn dwarf would not relinquish his weapon! And then there is the matter of my faithful horse, Arod. Gimli cannot ride him without me, but he must at least lead Arod out of the forest. I fear that the dwarf will just leave him. And while Arod is a most intelligent horse and will surely be able to get out on his own, he does not need another master to just suddenly desert him. The first one to do so being myself of course. Ai, Elbereth! I suppose I should at least be grateful that they have not taken me from Middle Earth in the middle of the war. Estel is a wonderful warrior, but there had been more than a few occasions that would have cost him much had I not been there to guard his back. A new journey lies ahead of me in this place. I see it to be an exciting one but I am saddened that none of my friends are here to share it with me. I can only hope that Estel or Gimli will join me soon here, but at the same time, I cannot wish this fate upon either of them. Tags: arrival, econtra, mellon
